CHOIR IMPROVISATION GAMES

social club of óbuda | november 2016

The Social Club of Óbuda invited Soharóza to do a classical choir performance as part of their “Faces of A Cappella” concert series. Naturally, we needed to redefine the classic part immediately so that we could provide a characteristic experience of our own. Our outfit was wearing T-shirts with human faces on them (= members of a human choir), we improvised and surprised the audience for more than an hour. Some of the musical games we played included circlesongs based on music hits suggested by the audience, rhythm games built from words thrown in by the listeners and we even showed them our so-called “breath-monster”. The result was a choral performance, but in the non-classical sense.
