AESCHYLUS: THE SUPPLIANTS

sanyi és aranka theatre | october 2016

In this tragedy by Aeschylus that was never staged in Hungary before, five members of Soharóza sang as the Choir of the Danaids. What does it mean to be a refugee? How does it feel to be persecuted from your land and that your life or death depends upon a foreign country you're asking for help from? What do the refugees risk and what does the recipient country risk? This production is accompanied by the explanations of the famous professor of philiology György Karsai.
