from budapest to berlin | january 2009
The first big experience – it is the magic we all remember. The magic of standing close together in the dark and suddenly noticing how breathing becomes music. The magic of concentrating on one and the same thing in our minds while singing a tribal African song – and having the rest of us understand perfectly without actually knowing.
The Surface Tension project was different each time we performed it. It was created from our own ideas and was an ever-changing experience. We performed it once almost double as fast as we should have – so excited were we. At another time we invited children to the ruins of a pseudo-Turkish bath in Budapest, and they ended up performing the whole thing with us. One thing was always the same: magic.
