RECITING CHOIR ENCORE

kassák museum| may 2017

Our first “speech choir” performance was held in February 2017 at the Music Academy of Budapest. It was then invited to the Kassák Museum, since the underlying concept – referring to the labour movement of the 1920s – is closely connected to the avantgard ideas and techniques used by the writer and poet Lajos Kassák himself or his contemporary, Ödön Palasovszky. The concert applies an extinct performative style, where amateur art fans gather to create avantgard performances that lie on the borders of theatre, music and poetry – this time created by the amateur singers of the Soharóza choir for the Night of Museums.
