JÁNOS PÁJINKÁS – A DIPLOMA THEATRE PLAY AT THE ACADAMY OF DRAMA AND FILM

ódry theatre / from april 2018 to july 2019

An old man from the countryside tells a tale in a soulful and straightforward way. As the story unfolds, besides the usual and some unexpected turns, we can see familiar situations from the history of the 20th century and that of mankind. Lajos Ámi told the tale, Sándor Erdész wrote it down, Péter Kárpáti wrote a drama based on it, and Márk Tárnoki put it on stage, featuring Soharóza. During the events of a revolution – caused by the intention to improve the world – we sometimes laugh about the fate of frail and familiar archetypes, but other times are touched by it. The choir is responsible for creating the atmosphere of some scenes, and the singers play the magical elements and characters made up by the mind of the storyteller, such as the army of the dead, a singing meadow or the Dragon King.
