OPENING CEREMONY OF THE DEVIL’S CAULDRON FESTIVAL

devil's cauldron festival | august 2009

Ördögkatlan (Devil’s Cauldron) is one of the most prominent interart festivals in Hungary. It takes place every August in a well-known wine region close to the Southern border of the country. We were invited by founder László Bérczes to hold the opening ceremony of the festival in 2009, when both Soharóza and the festival were still babies so to speak – both established in 2008. The choir participated in a five-day intense rehearsing process led by the young theatre director Pál Göttinger and eventually opened the festival, in a very ceremonial way, with gibberish speeches and statues moving in sync.
